Sebastian Sandberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ciro Buccella in the 3rd minute. Dave Bassani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fredrik Isak, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Morgan Hansson hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Dave Bassani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fredrik Isak in the 9th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Aversa's zone, Fredrik Isak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dave Bassani came out of the goal and Fredrik Isak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 22 minutes of play, Degerfors IF's Fredrik Isak made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dave Bassani was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 26th minute Fredrik Isak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dave Bassani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Fredrik Isak notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Aversa's Dave Bassani. Dave Bassani was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Aversa's Dave Bassani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fredrik Isak in the 30th minute of play. A collision led to Aversa getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Edoardo Pantani hit a great ball. If Fredrik Isak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Degerfors IF fans' excitement grew in the 43rd match minute when Degerfors IF's Fredrik Isak looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Fredrik Isak blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dave Bassani having to make a save. After the first half Degerfors IF were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fredrik Isak was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute Fredrik Isak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dave Bassani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Aversa getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Franco Campana hit a great ball. Degerfors IF's attentive Tomas Bäckström managed to snatch the ball when Ercole Cicchini made a throw-in in the 59th minute of the game. In the 60th minute, Fredrik Isak made a precise shot to the right of Dave Bassani. Aversa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. The audience was convinced that Fredrik Isak's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dave Bassani was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. A sloppy throw-in by Ercole Cicchini in the 67th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Degerfors IF's Tomas Bäckström. If Fredrik Isak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Fredrik Isak managed to get in a good position for a shot. Degerfors IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Fredrik Isak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dave Bassani breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aversa's Dave Bassani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fredrik Isak in the 78th minute of play. If Fredrik Isak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Per Åberg came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Degerfors IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Per Åberg couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Aversa's Ercole Cicchini got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 87thth minute of the game Fredrik Isak who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Aversa's Dave Bassani was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dave Bassani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fredrik Isak in the 89th minute of play. With his leg Dave Bassani managed to avoid a goal in the 90thth minute, when Degerfors IF's Fredrik Isak fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
