Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

Jake Debono charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jake Debono the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Patrick Izzo took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Constantin Ionaș. Constantin Ionaș dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-5. Attard Gunners's Albert Diacono was substituted for Patrick Izzo. 93 minutes into the match, Cobresal's goal looked a bit too open when Andrea Xuereb came free, but Constantin Ionaș reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Cobresal had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
