Mariusz Pudzianowski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lázaro Mincho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariusz Pudzianowski in the 26th minute of play forced GRÊMIO's goalkeeper Lázaro Mincho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute Mariusz Pudzianowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lázaro Mincho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, GRÊMIO's Roberto Fontes got a free kick in the 28th minute. After 31 minutes GRÊMIO's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Krzysztof Milan who took care of the corner kick. The GRÊMIO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lázaro Mincho should have stopped the shot. In the 94th minute Slawomir Fetor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lázaro Mincho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Juliszew SSA getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Arkadiusz Barowicz hit a great ball. The GRÊMIO manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Juliszew SSA to win.
