Purcaresti CSS's Ştefan Vârlan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Corentin Serre in the 7th minute of play. In the 8th match minute, En avant de guingamp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luc Anstett to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Purcaresti CSS booed when En avant de guingamp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xu Xing Ming didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute Corentin Serre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ştefan Vârlan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vincent Troubat during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to En avant de guingamp getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Vincent Troubat hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valeriu Amurăriței in the 22nd minute of play forced En avant de guingamp's goalkeeper Maelgwn Le Bars to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ştefan Vârlan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Corentin Serre's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Ewan Darnaud sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 30 minutes of play, En avant de guingamp's Corentin Serre made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ştefan Vârlan was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Purcaresti CSS's Valeriu Amurăriței got a free kick in the 34th minute. Danny Bernhard hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aurelian Stanciu during the 37th minute. After 39 played minutes Purcaresti CSS got a freekick which was hit by Constantin Negru. Pompiliu Maghear hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Vincent Troubat managed to get in a good position for a shot. En avant de guingamp's supporters rose to their feet, but Vincent Troubat was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ştefan Vârlan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Valer Șişman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Maelgwn Le Bars tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Valer Șişman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Purcaresti CSS's supporters rose to their feet, but Valer Șişman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maelgwn Le Bars breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. En avant de guingamp's Bixente Levasseur was substituted for Jonathan Bastin. After the first half En avant de guingamp were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valer Șişman to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes Purcaresti CSS got a freekick which was hit by Ferdinand Petre. Maelgwn Le Bars showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valeriu Amurăriței in the 54th minute of the match. Ştefan Vârlan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Corentin Serre's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Ştefan Vârlan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Corentin Serre in the 57th minute. In the 58th minute, Avram Ciprian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ştefan Vârlan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Corentin Serre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 61 minutes in the game, Corentin Serre dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Ştefan Vârlan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Corentin Serre's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. In the 67th minute, Corentin Serre got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Corentin Serre in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ştefan Vârlan saved Purcaresti CSS from getting behind. After 74 minutes, Corentin Serre made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Purcaresti CSS's Ştefan Vârlan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Ştefan Vârlan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Corentin Serre in the 79th minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Corentin Serre notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Purcaresti CSS's Ştefan Vârlan. Ştefan Vârlan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Ewan Darnaud came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the En avant de guingamp fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ewan Darnaud couldn't finish the play. Corentin Serre in the 88thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ştefan Vârlan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ştefan Vârlan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Corentin Serre's shot from short distance in the 89th minute.
