The supporters of Olympique Fribourg booed when Malvinas Argentinas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cecilio Richie didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ivan Toney in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Patrick Knechtli saved Olympique Fribourg from getting behind. Olympique Fribourg made a substitution. Marcellus Walpert replaced Daniel Schroeder. After a rather tough play, Olympique Fribourg's Fabio Poffet got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Malvinas Argentinas's Fernan Abancens got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 64 minutes, Ivan Toney managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malvinas Argentinas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivan Toney was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Medero Gadea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olympique Fribourg's supporters rose to their feet, but Medero Gadea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ermegildo Baristo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Malvinas Argentinas made a substitution. Serafin Quentin replaced Cecilio Richie. Miguel Godoy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Patrick Knechtli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miguel Godoy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Patrick Knechtli made a huge save. In the 86th minute Raik Topuz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ermegildo Baristo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patrick Knechtli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Toney in the 87th minute of play. Matt Metzger kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. After 90 played minutes, Malvinas Argentinas's Fernan Abancens shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Patrick Knechtli came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Malvinas Argentinas reached it. Ermegildo Baristo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Téo Savion in the 92nd minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Malvinas Argentinas players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Olympique Fribourg.
