After a defensive mix-up in New Pi's zone, Joga Redondo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maximo Godoy came out of the goal and Joga Redondo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Primitivo Ayala hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 42nd minute of the match Generoso Artizar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pedro Luiz Romero showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Marcelo Goito who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Pedro Luiz Romero when he managed to save the team from getting behind.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcelo Goito to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Edson Futebol Clube defense, Marcelo Goito kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Luiz Romero. The Edson Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Luiz Romero should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice moves Clóvis Paraibano could shoot a difficult shot in the 79th minute, which Maximo Godoy however easily saved by the left post. Marcelo Goito blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Luiz Romero having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Goito in the 82nd minute of play forced Edson Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Pedro Luiz Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Joga Redondo came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Edson Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joga Redondo couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Goito in the 90th minute of play forced Edson Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Pedro Luiz Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 91 played minutes New Pi got a freekick which was hit by Severo Baristo. Víktor Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Maximo Godoy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
