C.'s Ryszard Iwanowski sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Duncan Mcinnes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Carmichael Carbery kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Caco Azevedo. That made the score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. Ryszard Iwanowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 18 minutes into the match, SORRISO E. C.'s Ryszard Iwanowski sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Duncan Mcinnes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. SORRISO E. C.'s Caco Azevedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save SORRISO E. C. from getting a goal against them. Manly FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Neville Marsland in the 23rd minute. Manly FC's Neville Marsland was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Caco Azevedo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Duncan Mcinnes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ryszard Iwanowski in the 27th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ryszard Iwanowski in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Duncan Mcinnes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Paz Bennett got a throw-in 31 minutes in the game and the ball was received by John Aldridge. After a defensive mix-up in SORRISO E. C.'s zone, Carmichael Carbery stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Caco Azevedo came out of the goal and Carmichael Carbery tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, SORRISO E. C.'s Caco Azevedo got control of the ball when John Aldridge tried to sneak it across the goal line. SORRISO E. C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 37th minute, when John Aldridge scored to the left of an out of position Caco Azevedo, making the score, 2-0. Gil Cearense struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Duncan Mcinnes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SORRISO E. C.. Carmichael Carbery hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carmichael Carbery to make the kick off. Manly FC's Duncan Mcinnes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ryszard Iwanowski in the 57th minute of play. Ryszard Iwanowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Duncan Mcinnes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Duncan Mcinnes made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Ryszard Iwanowski sent off a good shot on target. In the 70th match minute, SORRISO E. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fábio Luz to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of SORRISO E. C. booed when Manly FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paz Bennett didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ryszard Iwanowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Manly FC's Carmichael Carbery got a free kick in the 80th minute. After 83 played minutes Manly FC got a freekick which was hit by Paz Bennett. Duncan Mcinnes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gil Cearense in the 88th minute. Caco Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carmichael Carbery, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Ryszard Iwanowski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ryszard Iwanowski in the 95th minute of play forced Manly FC's goalkeeper Duncan Mcinnes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
