In the 75th minute of the match Norrlands Athen got a corner. FC LIVERPOOL's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jakob Friberger ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Jakob Friberger got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Frank Pearce quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Frank Pearce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jakob Friberger, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Manfred Fribäck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jim Lyons, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Didi Tondu in the 79th minute of play forced Norrlands Athen's goalkeeper Manfred Fribäck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 80 played minutes Norrlands Athen got a freekick which was hit by Alberigo Garofalo. In the 95th minute, Erik Ljusberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Norrlands Athen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The FC LIVERPOOL supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Norrlands Athen's performance. The match ended with a win for Norrlands Athen.
