Denílson Catarinense came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Wolf's Cléber Vianna. But to his dismay, Cléber Vianna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Betinho Meira during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ruy Quirino's late challenge caught a Wolf's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ruy Quirino helped the player get up and apologised. 20 minutes into the match, Karavela's goal looked a bit too open when Valentin Gomez came free, but Denílson Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Karavela's goal looked a bit too open when Caio Lara came free, but Denílson Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valentin Gomez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Denílson Catarinense was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentin Gomez in the 30th minute of play forced Karavela's goalkeeper Denílson Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valentin Gomez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Denílson Catarinense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Elói Moraes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Denílson Catarinense was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. In the 44th minute, Jerônimo Moreno made a precise shot to the right of Denílson Catarinense. Karavela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valentin Gomez in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Denílson Catarinense saved Karavela from getting behind. When the match clock showed 53 minutes, the score became 0-6 when Valentin Gomez sped through Karavela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Denílson Catarinense. Denílson Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseu Teixeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cléber Vianna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 60 minutes into the match, Wolf's Cléber Vianna sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Denílson Catarinense narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Denílson Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentin Gomez, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Cléber Vianna kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Denílson Catarinense. That made the score 0-8 in the 70 minute of play. After 73 played minutes Karavela got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Silveira. After 74 minutes of play, Wolf's Valentin Gomez made it 0-9 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Denílson Catarinense was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Valentin Gomez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Denílson Catarinense was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. 79 minutes into the game, Cléber Vianna was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wolf's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Karavela the free kick. After a rather tough play, Wolf's Cléber Vianna got a free kick in the 79th minute. When Valentin Gomez came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Wolf fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valentin Gomez couldn't finish the play. In the 82nd match minute, Karavela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Domingues to maneuver through the defense. Denílson Catarinense made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Valentin Gomez sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 86 minutes, Eliseu Teixeira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wolf's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliseu Teixeira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. During the 91st minute of the match Ruy Quirino completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ruy Quirino a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 91st minute, Ruy Quirino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 95 minutes, Cléber Vianna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wolf's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cléber Vianna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
