Gavino Orlan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Demjan Gitchenko, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. FC Kolos were furious when Vsevolod Zbarakh was red carded, 48 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 47 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After a defensive mix-up in ★ᴇꜱᴛᴜᴅɪᴀɴᴛᴇꜱ ᴅᴇ ʟᴀ ᴘʟᴀᴛᴀ★'s zone, Dmytro Bogdaniv stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gavino Orlan came out of the goal and Dmytro Bogdaniv tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gavino Orlan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Demjan Gitchenko in the 64th minute of play. With a little luck, FC Kolos's Valeriy Smalko got control of the ball when Narciso Tano tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 76th minute, Marjan Babych hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 79 minutes into the game, Teodoro Rozarius was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ★ᴇꜱᴛᴜᴅɪᴀɴᴛᴇꜱ ᴅᴇ ʟᴀ ᴘʟᴀᴛᴀ★'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Kolos the free kick.
