Spectators: 7534 (Terracing: 5652, Seating: 1732, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Károly Tolnay started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Károly Tolnay in the 3rd minute of play forced JuSi Malacky's goalkeeper Dušan Vidlička to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Szombathely Squirrels's János Csongrádi got a free kick in the 5th minute. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Szombathely Squirrels's goalkeeper Sebestyén Király, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 17th minute, Szombathely Squirrels's Károly Tolnay ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dušan Vidlička. Dušan Vidlička yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miklós Sinkó during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some careless play in the Szombathely Squirrels defense, Doctor Strange kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sebestyén Király. The Szombathely Squirrels fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sebestyén Király should have stopped the shot. Dušan Vidlička made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vince Sós in the 31st minute of play. Dušan Vidlička made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Márton Zentay sent off a good shot on target. Sebestyén Király took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dobre Stal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Szombathely Squirrels's Sebestyén Király played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dobre Stal in the 35th minute of play. In the 40th match minute, JuSi Malacky was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marián Csontos to maneuver through the defense. Sebestyén Király took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dušan Obšut, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 48 minutes into the game, Károly Tolnay recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dušan Vidlička. Károly Tolnay showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Róbert Šľachta was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Szombathely Squirrels's Márton Zentay got a free kick in the 56th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vince Sós in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dušan Vidlička saved JuSi Malacky from getting behind. Sebestyén Király took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Róbert Šľachta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dobre Stal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 70 minutes into the match, Szombathely Squirrels's goal looked a bit too open when Doctor Strange came free, but Sebestyén Király reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Szombathely Squirrels's János Csongrádi got a free kick in the 71st minute. 76 minutes into the match, JuSi Malacky's goal looked a bit too open when Károly Tolnay came free, but Dušan Vidlička reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Peter Gombit could shoot a difficult shot in the 80th minute, which Sebestyén Király however easily saved by the left post. The supporters of Szombathely Squirrels booed when JuSi Malacky was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peter Gombit didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dušan Vidlička made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Károly Tolnay in the 86th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vince Sós in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dušan Vidlička saved JuSi Malacky from getting behind. Sebestyén Király showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doctor Strange in the 90th minute of the match. Peter Gombit hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Károly Tolnay in the 94th minute of play forced JuSi Malacky's goalkeeper Dušan Vidlička to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
