Florentino Ezkerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vrasidas Pelidis having to interfere. Kyriakos Papachristou hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Ivan Ostots managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivan Ostots was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vrasidas Pelidis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Theofilos Chronatos struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Mariano Nicholas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for O.T.E. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when O.T.E was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sakis Tavlaridis didn't get a good kick on the ball. O.T.E's Vrasidas Pelidis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florentino Ezkerra in the 19th minute of play. Sakis Tavlaridis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Mariano Nicholas made a huge save. Vrasidas Pelidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Lop, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's Pedro Lop sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vrasidas Pelidis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 29 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Dimosthenis Tsalouchidis came free, but Mariano Nicholas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Theofilos Chronatos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 39 minutes, Paulino Koldobika mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Boca Juniors and the O.T.E players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of O.T.E booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulino Koldobika didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Mariano Nicholas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theofilos Chronatos in the 58th minute of play. Sakis Tavlaridis hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Florentino Ezkerra might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vrasidas Pelidis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Florentino Ezkerra ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 70th minute, Kyriakos Papachristou hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 71 minutes into the match, O.T.E's goalkeeper Vrasidas Pelidis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ivan Ostots. In the 74th minute, O.T.E's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Florentino Ezkerra fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 75th minute, Kyriakos Papachristou hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ivan Ostots came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Boca Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Ostots couldn't finish the play. 84 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Theofilos Chronatos came free, but Mariano Nicholas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mariano Nicholas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sakis Tavlaridis in the 85th minute of the match. If Florentino Ezkerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sakis Tavlaridis made in the 93rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Boca Juniors's Marciano Haimar. O.T.E succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Boca Juniors had controlled the match.
