Spectators: 7555 (Terracing: 5668, Seating: 1737, VIP seats: 150) UFC STEAUA's Hermengildo Jobo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Ferdinand Hurmuzescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hermengildo Jobo scored 2-0 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eric Lilja, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hermengildo Jobo struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Eric Lilja didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UFC STEAUA. 22 minutes into the game, DFP's Sven Hernström nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Basarab Mâinea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Eric Lilja was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Hermengildo Jobo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 29 minute of play. After 32 played minutes UFC STEAUA got a freekick which was hit by Filip Vulpăşin. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, George Alebom managed to get in a good position for a shot. DFP's supporters rose to their feet, but George Alebom was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Basarab Mâinea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 35th minute, Rafet Faydalı hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. DFP's George Alebom got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Sven Hernström made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, UFC STEAUA's Florin Arsenescu got a free kick in the 50th minute. 52 minutes into the game, George Alebom was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. DFP's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave UFC STEAUA the free kick. In the 52nd minute, George Alebom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Basarab Mâinea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sven Hernström's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. In the 63rd minute, Sven Hernström left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The DFP fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Sven Hernströms short, quick shot in the 70thth minute got Basarab Mâinea to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 72nd minute, Hermengildo Jobo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 75 minutes into the game, Sven Hernström lined in a short shot 3-3 behind a frustrated Basarab Mâinea. In the 78th minute, George Alebom left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The DFP fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-4. DFP's Sven Hernström was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 82nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Sven Hernström took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Basarab Mâinea. Basarab Mâinea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-6. Basarab Mâinea came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by DFP's Alex Lööf. But to his dismay, Alex Lööf quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-8. The DFP players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
