Spectators: 7627 (Terracing: 5721, Seating: 1754, VIP seats: 152) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Loic Deal kicked off to start the match. After having played for 3 minutes, Iurie Bănățeanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iurie Bănățeanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Valer Onișoru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lee Coffman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st match minute, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iulian Stroe to maneuver through the defense. Randell McCullough, 22 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Varennes's Brice Leach proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Varennes from getting a goal against them. In the 28th minute, Iulian Stroe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valer Onișoru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loic Deal in the 29th minute of the match. Lazare Long kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After 37 played minutes Varennes got a freekick which was hit by Lee Coffman. Codruț Macaneață blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Brice Leach having to make a save. Valer Onișoru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Loic Deal, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Valer Onișoru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lee Coffman in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute Gigi Bobei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brice Leach saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute Iurie Bănățeanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brice Leach saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Iurie Bănățeanu was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcu Tudor to maneuver through the defense. Iurie Bănățeanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Iurie Bănățeanu scored 1-0 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brice Leach, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 62 played minutes PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca got a freekick which was hit by Silver Phoenix. Loic Deal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valer Onișoru read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Brice Leach took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Codruț Macaneață, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Răzvan Paulică kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. After 74 played minutes PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca got a freekick which was hit by Răzvan Paulică. Codruț Macaneață recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 77 played minutes Varennes got a freekick which was hit by Lazare Long. 78 minutes into the match, Varennes's goal looked a bit too open when Codruț Macaneață came free, but Brice Leach reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brice Leach showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Codruț Macaneață, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Brice Leach showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iurie Bănățeanu in the 83rd minute of the match. Brenton Carrasco charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brenton Carrasco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 84th minute, Brenton Carrasco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brice Leach made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iurie Bănățeanu in the 85th minute of play. Brenton Carrasco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Valer Onișoru made a huge save. After recieving a nice pass, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Octavian Chiriacescu tried to score from far away in the 96th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar.
