Gernando Paes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Negru, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. After 6 minutes Nas Horas Vagas F.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eugen Sava who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugen Sava in the 7th minute of play forced Nas Horas Vagas F.C's goalkeeper Gernando Paes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 8 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Manuel Negru sped through Nas Horas Vagas F.C's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gernando Paes. Gernando Paes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valer Stăniloaie in the 13th minute of the match. After 14 played minutes Cormoranii -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Valer Stăniloaie. If Valer Stăniloaie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th match minute, Cormoranii -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ion Stroiescu to maneuver through the defense. Gernando Paes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugen Sava, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valer Stăniloaie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gernando Paes having to interfere. Lúcio Pitta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Cormoranii -MM- fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when Cormoranii -MM-'s Valer Stăniloaie looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 39 minutes into the game, Nas Horas Vagas F.C's Lúcio Pitta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dino Zoff made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After some careless play in the Nas Horas Vagas F.C defense, Manuel Negru kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gernando Paes. The Nas Horas Vagas F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gernando Paes should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erasmo Carlos to make the kick off. Gernando Paes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugen Sava, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valer Stăniloaie in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gernando Paes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Nicolae Drăgoi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cormoranii -MM-'s supporters rose to their feet, but Nicolae Drăgoi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gernando Paes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cormoranii -MM-'s Dino Zoff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erasmo Carlos in the 63rd minute of play. Eusebiu Godeanu might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gernando Paes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eusebiu Godeanu ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 67th minute Nicolae Drăgoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gernando Paes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Nas Horas Vagas F.C's Gernando Paes got control of the ball when Manuel Negru tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nelson Dantas charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nelson Dantas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Nas Horas Vagas F.C's Nelson Dantas got a free kick in the 73rd minute. If Eugen Sava had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 78 minutes, Gernando Paes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicolae Drăgoi got free with Gernando Paes in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Manuel Negru in the 86thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gernando Paes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolae Drăgoi in the 91st minute of play forced Nas Horas Vagas F.C's goalkeeper Gernando Paes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute, Cormoranii -MM-'s Eugen Sava ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gernando Paes. Gernando Paes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. Cormoranii -MM-'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
