Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dráusio Saraiva in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Torgny Fastesson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to FC Bodil United getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Viggo Ekblom hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gert Barck during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Squadra Sulista booed when FC Bodil United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gert Barck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Torgny Fastesson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dráusio Saraiva in the 26th minute of play. Célio Cruz's late challenge caught a FC Bodil United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Célio Cruz helped the player get up and apologised. In the 29th minute, Célio Cruz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Josué Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tord Näfver in the 30th minute of play. After 32 minutes, Wilson Bezerra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Squadra Sulista and the FC Bodil United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Torgny Fastesson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The supporters of FC Bodil United booed when Squadra Sulista was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Célio Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kjell-Arne Björkqvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Josué Pinheiro made a huge save. Squadra Sulista's defense didn't have a chance, in the 46th minute, when Gert Barck scored to the left of an out of position Josué Pinheiro, making the score, 1-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tord Näfver to make the kick off. Kjell-Arne Björkqvist took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Josué Pinheiro. Josué Pinheiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Torgny Fastesson made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Dráusio Saraiva sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dráusio Saraiva got free with Torgny Fastesson in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Torgny Fastesson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Meireles in the 78th minute of the match. Torgny Fastesson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Meireles, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After 87 minutes, Dráusio Saraiva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Squadra Sulista and the FC Bodil United players grew even worse after the yellow card.
