After some careless play in the FC UNIREA Alba Iulia defense, Åke Rosendahl kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marian Podgoreanu. The FC UNIREA Alba Iulia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marian Podgoreanu should have stopped the shot. When Kind of Blue's Åke Rosendahl in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalie prevented a goal. Stormur Muren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tudor Bărbânță, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Tudor Bărbânță received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Stormur Muren came out and tried to block the shot, but Tudor Bărbânță slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 16th minute. The supporters of FC UNIREA Alba Iulia booed when Kind of Blue was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kim Samuelsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kim Samuelsson during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Kind of Blue's Kim Samuelsson got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute of the match Nechifor Ciocârlan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Stormur Muren skillfully saved the ball. Åke Rosendahl scored 1-3 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marian Podgoreanu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 32 played minutes FC UNIREA Alba Iulia got a freekick which was hit by Gigel Câmpeanu. Petter Abrahamsson charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Petter Abrahamsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FC UNIREA Alba Iulia booed when Kind of Blue was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petter Abrahamsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Tudor Bărbânță fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's protests and gave Tudor Bărbânță a yellow card for diving instead. Tudor Bărbânță hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Marian Podgoreanu came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Kind of Blue's Åke Rosendahl. But to his dismay, Åke Rosendahl quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. After some careless play in the FC UNIREA Alba Iulia defense, Åke Rosendahl kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marian Podgoreanu. The FC UNIREA Alba Iulia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marian Podgoreanu should have stopped the shot. After the first half Kind of Blue were leading 1-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tudor Bărbânță stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Florin Astafiei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stormur Muren having to interfere. Marian Podgoreanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Åke Rosendahl in the 60th minute of play. In the 62nd minute Cornel Câmpeanu suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Fredric Botvidsson's late challenge caught a FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fredric Botvidsson helped the player get up and apologised. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia made a substitution. Iulian Bucurescu replaced Cornel Câmpeanu. Marian Podgoreanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Åke Rosendahl in the 66th minute. Åke Rosendahl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 71 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Asplund came free, but Marian Podgoreanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Per Tunberg hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. After having played for 76 minutes, Florin Astafiei managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Florin Astafiei was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stormur Muren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tudor Bărbânță in the 78th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Åke Rosendahl in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marian Podgoreanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 89th minute, Gigel Câmpeanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 93 minutes into the match, Kind of Blue's goal looked a bit too open when Tudor Bărbânță came free, but Stormur Muren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Kind of Blue's Marian Podgoreanu threw himself towards the right post 95 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Åke Rosendahl, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Åke Rosendahl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kind of Blue's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
