Norberto Montxo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leonardo Olazabal in the 16th minute. With an all-out effort, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Norberto Montxo threw himself towards the right post 19 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marcelino Balbas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 20 minutes White StarZ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Zunbeltz Inchaurdi who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Zunbeltz Inchaurdi almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but White StarZ's Norberto Montxo did a great save. Leonardo Olazabal might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Norberto Montxo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leonardo Olazabal ran back to his position shaking his head. Fernando Guedeja recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ciriaco Cedro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Fernando Guedeja got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Norberto Montxo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelino Balbas, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Inter de Guayaquil FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Zunbeltz Inchaurdi in the 58th minute. Zunbeltz Inchaurdi made a great header on Inter de Guayaquil FC's corner, it was just that White StarZ's Norberto Montxo managed to reach the ball for a save. 61 minutes into the match, White StarZ's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelino Balbas came free, but Norberto Montxo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 64th minute, when White StarZ's Cipriano Sansone after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Romo Ungo in Inter de Guayaquil FC's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. Norberto Montxo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelino Balbas in the 67th minute of play. Norberto Montxo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcelino Balbas went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Romo Ungo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonides Ladio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bottero Ramallal got his second yellow card in the match during the 76th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 77th minute, Bottero Ramallal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of White StarZ booed when Inter de Guayaquil FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Guedeja didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Claudio Jaunzuria fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored White StarZ's protests and gave Claudio Jaunzuria a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to White StarZ getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Romo Ungo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ciriaco Cedro in the 88th minute. If Ciriaco Cedro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Many of White StarZ's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. White StarZ may have spent more time on the ball, but Inter de Guayaquil FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
