After a rather tough play, Lyons's Herminio Vincente got a free kick in the 8th minute. Froilan Orain came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by REAL VASCO RIO's Eriberto Sergipano. But to his dismay, Eriberto Sergipano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Froilan Orain showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emerson Trevisan, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute, Eriberto Sergipano made a precise shot to the right of Froilan Orain. Lyons's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrão Souza in the 19th minute of play forced Lyons's goalkeeper Froilan Orain to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teofilo Baladi kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Pedrão Souza kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, REAL VASCO RIO's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Ibar came free, but Percival Prestes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Ibar in the 39th minute of play forced REAL VASCO RIO's goalkeeper Percival Prestes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Froilan Orain took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eriberto Sergipano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victor Ibar was the one to do the kick off. Eriberto Sergipano took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Froilan Orain. With a little luck, Lyons's Froilan Orain got control of the ball when Emerson Trevisan tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 68 minutes, Emilio Peru mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lyons and the REAL VASCO RIO players grew even worse after the yellow card. Emilio Peru was shown his second yellow card after 72 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Lyons's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emerson Trevisan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-8. Emerson Trevisan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Froilan Orain made a huge save. Froilan Orain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eriberto Sergipano in the 79th minute of play. With 82 minutes on the clock, Mario Peio commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 82nd minute, one of Lyons:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Lyons. José Pedro Simão shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Thanks to some nice moves Emerson Trevisan could shoot a difficult shot in the 92nd minute, which Froilan Orain however easily saved by the left post. REAL VASCO RIO's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
