The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, SILMONT's goal looked a bit too open when Virgílio Diniz came free, but Yves Michalon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SILMONT's Yves Michalon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Carlos Mattos in the 9th minute of play. After a rather tough play, New Loser FC's João Carlos Mattos got a free kick in the 16th minute. Bebeto Penha charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bebeto Penha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bebeto Penha hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After 19 played minutes SILMONT got a freekick which was hit by Gilles Patron. Pedro Luiz Prado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Descombes in the 22nd minute of play. Bebeto Penha got his second yellow card in the match during the 24th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Bebeto Penha hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Yves Michalon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgílio Diniz in the 34th minute of play. If Gilles Patron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 36 minutes into the match, New Loser FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gilles Patron came free, but Pedro Luiz Prado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yves Michalon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dorival de Moraes in the 46th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dan Descombes to make the kick off. Pedro Luiz Prado made a fantastic save in the 50th minute, when Dan Descombes sent off a good shot on target. Dan Descombes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Pedro Luiz Prado made a huge save. If Hervé Sandoz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilles Patron in the 57th minute of play forced New Loser FC's goalkeeper Pedro Luiz Prado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SILMONT's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Omer Demeyer in the 59th minute. It was a well-played corner which Youri Flamant managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. André Mouche charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed André Mouche the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 61 played minutes SILMONT got a freekick which was hit by André Mouche. After 64 minutes of play, New Loser FC's Dorival de Moraes made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Yves Michalon was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 70th minute, Gilles Patron got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, New Loser FC's Pedro Luiz Prado got control of the ball when Gilles Patron tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 74th minute, Gilles Patron got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 78th minute, Youri Flamant got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Youri Flamant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Pedro Luiz Prado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The SILMONT players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented New Loser FC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
