Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gilmar Pernambucano in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Froilan Pasqual prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With an all-out effort, Club Atlético Temperley's Tostão Varela threw himself towards the right post 44 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Aureliano Dei, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 45th minute Aureliano Dei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tostão Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leo Viator made in the 47th minute of the game a quick throw-in and German Ekaitz immediately put the ball in play. After the first half Mochila FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Lisandro Abeitia charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
