The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Mitnarotov FC got a freekick which was hit by Fred Luz. 5 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mitnarotov FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Baldomero Claus was slow to take the kick. During this time Berni y Benja FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Berni y Benja FC's Baldomero Claus to fire away a dangerous shot which Almir Miranda despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Eliseo Thomas sped through Mitnarotov FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Almir Miranda. 10 minutes into the match, Berni y Benja FC's goalkeeper Isaac Ibon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dagoberto Zonta. Isaac Ibon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernani Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After a rather tough play, Berni y Benja FC's Eliseo Thomas got a free kick in the 18th minute. Almir Miranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baldomero Claus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Mitnarotov FC booed when Berni y Benja FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin Paul didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Mitnarotov FC's goal looked a bit too open when Baldomero Claus came free, but Almir Miranda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th match minute, Mitnarotov FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doriva Vaz to maneuver through the defense. In the 35th minute of the match Baldomero Claus shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Almir Miranda showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Lenílson Velasco's late challenge caught a Berni y Benja FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lenílson Velasco helped the player get up and apologised. Lenílson Velasco hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Almir Miranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Atarrabi in the 36th minute of play. If Baldomero Claus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eliseo Thomas struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Almir Miranda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Berni y Benja FC. Ernani Mendes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half Berni y Benja FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Baldomero Claus was the one to do the kick off. Almir Miranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baldomero Claus in the 52nd minute of the match. Isaac Ibon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mitnarotov FC. Baldomero Claus came free with the goalkeeper in the 67th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Almir Miranda could save by the left post. Iuri Arruda took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 70th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Isaac Ibon. Berni y Benja FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Dagoberto Zonta came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Mitnarotov FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dagoberto Zonta couldn't finish the play. With his leg Almir Miranda managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Berni y Benja FC's Baldomero Claus fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Almir Miranda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eliseo Thomas in the 77th minute. Almir Miranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baldomero Claus in the 78th minute of the match. After 79 played minutes Mitnarotov FC got a freekick which was hit by Clemente Coelho. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dagoberto Zonta in the 82nd minute of play forced Berni y Benja FC's goalkeeper Isaac Ibon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Isaac Ibon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dagoberto Zonta went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Baldomero Claus in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Almir Miranda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Baldomero Claus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Almir Miranda having to interfere. In the 96th minute Dagoberto Zonta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isaac Ibon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
