Higinio Casado's late challenge caught a FC Dundee's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 25th minute Tom Loss shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Olave saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Belgrano de Pibasog were furious when Maximo Elorri was red carded, 28 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee gave FC Dundee a penalty, 30 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Olavi Ellermaa, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Belgrano de Pibasog's Alfredo Olave. 0-3. Alfredo Olave took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ennu Nurmik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfredo Olave showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toomas Lasso in the 35th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Passerini in the 38th minute of play forced FC Dundee's goalkeeper Tom Are to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredo Moreno kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After 47 played minutes FC Dundee got a freekick which was hit by Toomas Lasso. After the first half FC Dundee were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alfredo Passerini was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd match minute, FC Dundee was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tom Loss to maneuver through the defense. 62 minutes into the game, Sten Vonk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tom Loss received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alfredo Olave came out and tried to block the shot, but Tom Loss slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 77th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Belgrano de Pibasog's goalkeeper Alfredo Olave had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sten Vonk. After 89 played minutes Belgrano de Pibasog got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Goba. FC Dundee's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
