The Olympiacos FC fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Olympiacos FC's Alexis Kotsanakis looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 13 minutes into the match, Olympiacos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Navedo came free, but Anastasios Perakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tzvetan Kirkorov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Notis Trontzos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lakis Xanthis kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Tzvetan Kirkorov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Notis Trontzos in the 19th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabricio Vedeja in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anastasios Perakis saved Olympiacos FC from getting behind. Anastasios Perakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Navedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Olympiacos FC's Anastasios Perakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabricio Vedeja in the 24th minute of play. After having played for 27 minutes, Luis-Antonio Barraza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Loja S.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis-Antonio Barraza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tzvetan Kirkorov acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 33rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Konstantinos Meletiou. In the 37th minute of the match Justavino Centeno sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anastasios Perakis skillfully saved the ball. Soulis Partalis hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 46th minute Ricardo Navedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anastasios Perakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alexis Kotsanakis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tzvetan Kirkorov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Panos Ntountas, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. When Lakis Xanthis came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Olympiacos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lakis Xanthis couldn't finish the play. Fabricio Vedeja hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Loja S.C.'s Victor Peres was substituted for Ricardo Navedo. Tzvetan Kirkorov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexis Kotsanakis's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. After 75 minutes of play, Loja S.C.'s Victor Peres made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Anastasios Perakis was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Loja S.C.'s Fabricio Vedeja got a free kick in the 83rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexis Kotsanakis in the 85th minute of play forced Loja S.C.'s goalkeeper Tzvetan Kirkorov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anastasios Perakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabricio Vedeja, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Anastasios Perakis came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Loja S.C.'s Victor Peres. But to his dismay, Victor Peres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 93rd minute, Victor Peres made a precise shot to the right of Anastasios Perakis. Olympiacos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. The Loja S.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Loja S.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
