Gijsbert Schaars was slow to take the kick. During this time Lemel SV's players had a chance to rest. In the 5th match minute, Lemel SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rudi Hateboer to maneuver through the defense. Alexis Ardizzoni could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Cobus Hemmen made a huge save. Cobus Hemmen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manolito Neira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Roberto Rivelino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vicens Magofke was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. With a little luck, Lemel SV's Cobus Hemmen got control of the ball when Lucho Pérez tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roberto Rivelino made a kick off. A throw-in in the 54th minute of the game was made by Luis Mena with Miguel Riffo as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 59 minutes into the match, Lemel SV's goal looked a bit too open when Manolito Neira came free, but Cobus Hemmen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cobus Hemmen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucho Pérez in the 79th minute of play. The supporters of Lemel SV booed when Colo-Colo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Riffo didn't get a good kick on the ball.
