Gaby Martínez made a great header on Obrero Barquisimeto's corner, it was just that FC Wil 1900's Hannes Saenger managed to reach the ball for a save. Karim Gerber's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pepe Concellon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Bras Pizarro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Obrero Barquisimeto fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 26th minute, Lari Fari hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute, Adriano Bollhalder made a precise shot to the right of Pepe Concellon. Obrero Barquisimeto's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Roberto Pato could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Hannes Saenger made a huge save. Obrero Barquisimeto's Bras Pizarro got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 43 minutes into the match, Obrero Barquisimeto's goal looked a bit too open when Roland Cirella came free, but Pepe Concellon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Obrero Barquisimeto players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Wil 1900 were winning 2-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Karim Gerber to strike the kick off in the second half. Pepe Concellon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adriano Bollhalder in the 55th minute. FC Wil 1900's Donato Blaser was substituted for Tran Brünisholz. After 56 played minutes Obrero Barquisimeto got a freekick which was hit by Severino Bruna. When Marcos Akerman fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Obrero Barquisimeto's protests and gave Marcos Akerman a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Obrero Barquisimeto getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Severino Bruna hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Bras Pizarro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hannes Saenger was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Adriano Bollhalder could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Pepe Concellon made a huge save. Hannes Saenger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bras Pizarro in the 76th minute of play. After 78 minutes FC Wil 1900's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gaby Martínez who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Gaby Martínez got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Hannes Saenger quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 79 played minutes Obrero Barquisimeto got a freekick which was hit by Marcos Akerman. After 83 played minutes Obrero Barquisimeto got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Pato. Hannes Saenger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bras Pizarro, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. In the 95th match minute, FC Wil 1900 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Blaser to maneuver through the defense. The Obrero Barquisimeto supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC Wil 1900's performance. The match ended with a win for FC Wil 1900.
