Spectators: 7701 (Terracing: 5777, Seating: 1771, VIP seats: 153) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bras Pizarro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hannes Saenger having to interfere. Hannes Saenger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Pato in the 9th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Bras Pizarro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hannes Saenger was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. In the 13th minute, Karim Gerber left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Wil 1900 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Karim Gerber kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bras Pizarro in the 18th minute of play forced FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Hannes Saenger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pepe Concellon made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Joshua Anderhub sent off a good shot on target. Pepe Concellon was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Karim Gerber showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 30 minute of play. The supporters of Obrero Barquisimeto booed when FC Wil 1900 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cliff Tschupp didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcos Akerman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Hannes Saenger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the FC Wil 1900 defense, Bras Pizarro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hannes Saenger. The FC Wil 1900 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hannes Saenger should have stopped the shot. Pepe Concellon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Karim Gerber in the 47th minute. After 47 minutes, Marcos Akerman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Obrero Barquisimeto and the FC Wil 1900 players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 47th minute, Marcos Akerman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

If Bras Pizarro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th minute, Bras Pizarro fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Hannes Saenger, passed just outside the right post. Roberto Pato received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hannes Saenger came out and tried to block the shot, but Roberto Pato slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 60th minute. Obrero Barquisimeto's Pepe Concellon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karim Gerber in the 65th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bras Pizarro in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hannes Saenger saved FC Wil 1900 from getting behind. In the 68th minute Severino Bruna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hannes Saenger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roberto Pato in the 69th minute of play forced FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Hannes Saenger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pepe Concellon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joshua Anderhub, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joshua Anderhub in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pepe Concellon saved Obrero Barquisimeto from getting behind. When Roberto Pato came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Obrero Barquisimeto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roberto Pato couldn't finish the play. In the 80th minute, Bras Pizarro made a precise shot to the right of Hannes Saenger. FC Wil 1900's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Paulo Antoñana kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Severino Bruna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hannes Saenger having to interfere. Lari Fari hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After 92 played minutes Obrero Barquisimeto got a freekick which was hit by Marcos Akerman. In the 96th minute Karim Gerber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pepe Concellon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
