An unexpectedly hard shot by Wanderson Valencia in the 36th minute of play forced Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato's goalkeeper Xzaiver Lorenzo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Militros F.C.'s Sérgio Roche played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zorion Oña in the 39th minute of play. In the 42nd minute Zorion Oña shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Roche saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xzaiver Lorenzo came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Militros F.C.'s Sandrinho Cunha. But to his dismay, Sandrinho Cunha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zorion Oña made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kojiro Schneider got free with Sérgio Roche in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ronaldão Silva was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 56th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Zorion Oña's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sérgio Roche was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Xzaiver Lorenzo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wanderson Valencia in the 61st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Militros F.C.'s Erik Medeiros got a free kick in the 65th minute. With a little luck, Militros F.C.'s Sérgio Roche got control of the ball when Cagua Vilarrubia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cagua Vilarrubia lost his temper 71 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. If Erik Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Xzaiver Lorenzo came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Militros F.C.'s Wanderson Valencia. But to his dismay, Wanderson Valencia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After having played for 89 minutes, Gustavo Isazi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustavo Isazi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 94 minutes into the match, Militros F.C.'s goalkeeper Sérgio Roche had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kojiro Schneider. After some careless play in the Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato defense, Pedrinho do Valle kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Xzaiver Lorenzo. The Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Xzaiver Lorenzo should have stopped the shot.
