When Scott Sterling came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the FC Kurdistan fans jumped to their feet. FC Kurdistan's Andreas Palička tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Morgan Åkesson during the 29th minute. Jorge Lisboa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Andreas Palička when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Fredy Montero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 40 minutes into the match, FC Kurdistan's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Porto came free, but Andreas Palička reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 2-0 became the score in the 40th minute when Manuel Porto elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. With a little luck, FC Kurdistan's Andreas Palička got control of the ball when Fredy Montero tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jorge Lisboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andreas Palička having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
The wind increased when Manuel Porto made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Lisboa in the 71st minute of play forced FC Kurdistan's goalkeeper Andreas Palička to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sporting Clube de Gaya's António Trubin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Clube de Gaya from getting a goal against them. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sporting Clube de Gaya's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Hans Vennerberg was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Kurdistan's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Hans Vennerberg got away a dangerous shot. Despite this António Trubin quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After having played for 78 minutes, Jordan Peterson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Kurdistan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jordan Peterson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. António Trubin made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Eddie Andreasson sent off a good shot on target. Gabriel Lange received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. António Trubin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Isaac Göransson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute, FC Kurdistan's Gabriel Lange dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. In the 92nd minute, Manuel Porto made a precise shot to the right of Andreas Palička. FC Kurdistan's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Sporting Clube de Gaya's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
