FC Klavertje Vier's Zabulón Carabajal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaac Göransson in the 5th minute of play. If Jacq Rouvoet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claude Montens kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Zabulón Carabajal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fredy Montero's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. 24 minutes into the match, Jorge Lisboa notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of FC Klavertje Vier's Zabulón Carabajal. Zabulón Carabajal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 27 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube de Gaya's goal looked a bit too open when Jacq Rouvoet came free, but António Trubin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Clube de Gaya's zone, Claude Montens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. António Trubin came out of the goal and Claude Montens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zabulón Carabajal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Lisboa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute Angelo Di Maria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Trubin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Sporting Clube de Gaya booed when FC Klavertje Vier was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willy Van de Goor didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd minute, Janes Lembrechts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zabulón Carabajal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Li Shi Xiang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 46 minutes, Claude Montens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Klavertje Vier's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claude Montens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 47th minute Jacq Rouvoet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Trubin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Sporting Clube de Gaya's Aparício Silveira was substituted for João Tinoco. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Angelo Di Maria stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 60 minutes into the game, Fredy Montero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Zabulón Carabajal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Claude Montens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zabulón Carabajal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Lisboa in the 68th minute of play. When FC Klavertje Vier's Jacq Rouvoet in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sporting Clube de Gaya's goalie prevented a goal. 75 minutes into the match, FC Klavertje Vier's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Lisboa came free, but Zabulón Carabajal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Loid Widdepenninck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zabulón Carabajal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fredy Montero in the 79th minute. 80 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Klavertje Vier's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Li Shi Xiang was slow to take the kick. During this time Sporting Clube de Gaya's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Li Shi Xiang got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Zabulón Carabajal quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 83rd minute, Joos Horemans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Zabulón Carabajal managed to avoid a goal in the 84thth minute, when Sporting Clube de Gaya's Manuel Porto fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claude Montens in the 93rd minute of play forced Sporting Clube de Gaya's goalkeeper António Trubin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zabulón Carabajal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jorge Lisboa in the 94th minute. Jacq Rouvoet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without António Trubin having to interfere. The FC Klavertje Vier supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Sporting Clube de Gaya's performance. The match ended with a win for Sporting Clube de Gaya.
