Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Moisés Arruda to make the kick off. Cléber Pinho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aimar Aimar's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Victor de Sena who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 54thth minute tested the skills of João Francisco Leme when he managed to save the team from getting behind. João Francisco Leme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durval Pitta in the 58th minute of play. Hélder Bueno hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Ique Football Club's Hélder Bueno got a free kick in the 59th minute. After 62 minutes, Haroldo França mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clube do Remo MZ and the Ique Football Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Clube do Remo MZ getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Haroldo França hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the match, Durval Pitta dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of João Francisco Leme, 1-1. The supporters of Clube do Remo MZ booed when Ique Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cafu Varela didn't get a good kick on the ball.
