The corner ended in Moritz Christe almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but F.C.BARLAD's Niculae Isvoreanu did a great save. In the 20th minute, Pinkus Mack made a precise shot to the right of Niculae Isvoreanu. F.C.BARLAD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. F.C.BARLAD's attentive Ştefan Bara managed to snatch the ball when Carl Derm made a throw-in in the 28th minute of the game. When Moritz Christe fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Academica Pulheim's protests and gave Moritz Christe a yellow card for diving instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Moritz Christe was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Academica Pulheim's Florian Schulitz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Niculae Isvoreanu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Valentin Verzea was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 59th match minute, Academica Pulheim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carsten Boy to maneuver through the defense. Academica Pulheim made a substitution. Edgar Gomminginger replaced Rando Max. After having played for 64 minutes, Daniel Bacalbașa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C.BARLAD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Bacalbașa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee showed Paul Irod the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, F.C.BARLAD's Paul Irod got a free kick in the 70th minute. Niculae Isvoreanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florian Schulitz in the 71st minute of the match. A collision led to Academica Pulheim getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Florian Schulitz hit a great ball. Daniel Bacalbașa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Henry Nölting made a huge save. 78 minutes into the match, F.C.BARLAD's goal looked a bit too open when Moritz Christe came free, but Niculae Isvoreanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Achmed Bani in the 79th minute of play forced F.C.BARLAD's goalkeeper Niculae Isvoreanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute, Achmed Bani left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Academica Pulheim fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. In the 84th minute Moritz Christe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niculae Isvoreanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Academica Pulheim's Henry Nölting proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Academica Pulheim from getting a goal against them. For all the effort they put into the match, the F.C.BARLAD players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Academica Pulheim.
