The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Dick Söderkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Richard Dawkins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Walter Ahlbom charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Walter Ahlbom the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 8 minutes into the game, Tasso FC's Richard Dawkins nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Olov Lilja made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 13 minutes into the match, Richard Dawkins dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Olov Lilja, 2-0. 16 minutes into the match, Tasso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Andréas Asserlind came free, but Monte Lobato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. André Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Fågelmara IK defense, André Ribeiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Olov Lilja. The Fågelmara IK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olov Lilja should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Fågelmara IK booed when Tasso FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Palhares didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute, Marcos Cesário hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 40 played minutes Tasso FC got a freekick which was hit by Gualter Rebelo. Monte Lobato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bo-Erik Pedersson in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Esbjörn Bergstedt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Monte Lobato was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and André Ribeiro made a kick off. Gualter Rebelo hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. André Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Monte Lobato showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erland Hult in the 65th minute of the match. Richard Dawkins's late challenge caught a Fågelmara IK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Richard Dawkins helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Tasso FC's Richard Dawkins got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 68th minute, Severino Taveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Tasso FC booed when Fågelmara IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erland Hult didn't get a good kick on the ball. Richard Dawkins struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Olov Lilja didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tasso FC. Andréas Asserlind received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Monte Lobato came out and tried to block the shot, but Andréas Asserlind slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 82nd minute. After 84 minutes, André Ribeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tasso FC and the Fågelmara IK players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Tasso FC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. André Ribeiro hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erland Hult in the 87th minute of play forced Tasso FC's goalkeeper Monte Lobato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Esbjörn Bergstedt's late challenge caught a Tasso FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Esbjörn Bergstedt helped the player get up and apologised. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
