In the 8th minute, RKS CZĘSTOCHOWA's Wasyl Raszkiewicz seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Wasyl Raszkiewicz the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of RKS CZĘSTOCHOWA protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Wasyl Raszkiewicz had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 7th minute of the game. One of RKS CZĘSTOCHOWA:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Club Brugge:s goal. Kazimierz Opat had in the 9thth minute some difficulties stopping Dave Goorts's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Cezary Dabrowski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Giles Valkeneers made a huge save. RKS CZĘSTOCHOWA's Kazimierz Opat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karel De Roover in the 23rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bogumil Marchefka during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Cezary Dabrowski kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Giles Valkeneers. That made the score 2-0 in the 32 minute of play. Reinaert Ketelers charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Reinaert Ketelers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Club Brugge booed when RKS CZĘSTOCHOWA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Dziura didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

After 51 played minutes RKS CZĘSTOCHOWA got a freekick which was hit by Kacper Radziszewski. RKS CZĘSTOCHOWA's Kazimierz Opat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Goorts in the 56th minute of play. Kazimierz Opat made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnout Labrouche in the 61st minute. In the 66th minute, Cezary Dabrowski made a precise shot to the right of Giles Valkeneers. Club Brugge's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Arnout Labrouche struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Kazimierz Opat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Brugge. Bogumil Marchefka kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. RKS CZĘSTOCHOWA's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
