In the 10th minute, Sergio Baumer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guillermo Ebardo in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luís Paulo Velloso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sergio Baumer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Sergio Baumer came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Administrativo Sport Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sergio Baumer couldn't finish the play. When Alfonso Arias came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Administrativo Sport Club fans jumped to their feet. The audience thought a goal was coming when Giuseppe Abreu got free with Jose Bonifaco in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Guillermo Ebardo made a kick off. A collision led to Mexilhão F. C. getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Enéas Pires hit a great ball. When Sergio Baumer fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Administrativo Sport Club's protests and gave Sergio Baumer a yellow card for diving instead. In the 52nd minute, Sergio Baumer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mexilhão F. C.'s Luís Paulo Velloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guillermo Ebardo in the 54th minute of play. Mexilhão F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Alfonso Arias came free, but Luís Paulo Velloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Sergio Baumer reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Luís Paulo Velloso. The goal made the score 1-4. Although Mexilhão F. C. had been in control for most of the match, Administrativo Sport Club still came away with the win.
