The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luís Paulo Velloso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Timoteo Masdeu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Luís Paulo Velloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute, Timoteo Masdeu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paz Ciaran's late challenge caught a Mexilhão F. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paz Ciaran helped the player get up and apologised. Luís Paulo Velloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timoteo Masdeu, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute.
