The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hector-Luis Salsoro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Natanael Alvarenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Taio Ponce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abelardo Soares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Urko Baezabal having to make a save. Urko Baezabal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kauã do Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. If Ignacio Leira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AlmaToran's Gai Freigido got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Taio Ponce took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Natanael Alvarenga. Natanael Alvarenga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 46th minute, Celestino Lama hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abelardo Soares made a kick off. Taio Ponce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bernardo de Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Urko Baezabal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind AlmaToran's goalkeeper Urko Baezabal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Urko Baezabal made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Abelardo Soares sent off a good shot on target. Abelardo Soares received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Urko Baezabal came out and tried to block the shot, but Abelardo Soares slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 90th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Celestino Lama during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The AlmaToran fans cheered their team off the field, for while VERONA FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
