The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to FC UNIREA Alba Iulia getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. But to his dismay, Tudor Bărbânță quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Victoriano Ibañez kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marian Podgoreanu. That made the score 1-1 in the 23 minute of play. In the 25th match minute, De Boedo Vengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gavino Chucho to maneuver through the defense. Victoriano Ibañezs short, quick shot in the 28thth minute got Marian Podgoreanu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Gavino Chucho came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the De Boedo Vengo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gavino Chucho couldn't finish the play. In the 35th minute, Severiano Amaya hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Tudor Bărbânță in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Florin Astafiei during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to FC UNIREA Alba Iulia getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Florin Astafiei hit a great ball. In the 47th minute Nicasio Bartoleme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marian Podgoreanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 47 minutes, Dinu Coșmeanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC UNIREA Alba Iulia and the De Boedo Vengo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Dinu Coșmeanu got a free kick in the 47th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tudor Bărbânță stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 61 minutes into the game, Tudor Bărbânță was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave De Boedo Vengo the free kick. The supporters of De Boedo Vengo booed when FC UNIREA Alba Iulia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tudor Bărbânță didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cayetano Esdras made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Dinu Coșmeanu sent off a good shot on target. 94 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goal looked a bit too open when Nicasio Bartoleme came free, but Marian Podgoreanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
