If Elias Chap had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Leon Nesto got control of the ball when Christian Eleazar tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 11th minute, Ignacio Tonio made a precise shot to the right of Leon Nesto. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 19 minutes into the game, Aldo Merexildo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AC LeX Luthor the free kick. In the 20th minute, Ignacio Tonio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. AC LeX Luthor's Christian Eleazar got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leon Nesto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ignacio Tonio in the 26th minute. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Leon Nesto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save NEWELL´S OLD BOYS from getting a goal against them. Elias Chap recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Eleazar in the 43rd minute of play forced NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goalkeeper Leon Nesto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute Aldo Merexildo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gavino Garaona saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Artemio Goiz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Artemio Rioja recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Artemio Goiz got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 69thth minute of the game Ignacio Tonio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Leon Nesto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leon Nesto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artemio Rioja, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Gavino Garaona showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Apolo Richie in the 72nd minute of the match. After 76 minutes, Rene Bernabel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the NEWELL´S OLD BOYS and the AC LeX Luthor players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of AC LeX Luthor booed when NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rene Bernabel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jesus Tonio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leon Nesto having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's zone, Elias Chap stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leon Nesto came out of the goal and Elias Chap tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christian Eleazar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leon Nesto having to interfere. Leon Nesto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artemio Rioja, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erasmo Fernendo hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignacio Tonio in the 89th minute of play forced NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goalkeeper Leon Nesto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When AC LeX Luthor's Ignacio Tonio in the 91st minute got a chance for a shot 91st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goalie prevented a goal. 93 minutes into the match, Ignacio Tonio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leon Nesto. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ignacio Tonio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. AC LeX Luthor fully deserved thier win.
