Gerardo Oalo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quique Sominaya having to interfere. 15 minutes into the match, Carqueja's goal looked a bit too open when Eleuterio Savier came free, but Quique Sominaya reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Damaso Tejeyra kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sergio Faron. That made the score 1-0 in the 17 minute of play. Fagildo Cases fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergio Faron having to interfere. With a little luck, El Retorno de Palermo's Sergio Faron got control of the ball when Hitz Erus tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 29th minute, Gerardo Oalo made a precise shot to the right of Quique Sominaya. Carqueja's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Hitz Erus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th match minute, Carqueja was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eleder Benagassi to maneuver through the defense. El Retorno de Palermo's Dionisio Eutor got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Dionisio Eutor fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Retorno de Palermo's protests and gave Dionisio Eutor a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to El Retorno de Palermo getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Dionisio Eutor hit a great ball. It was beautiful to see Carqueja's Eleder Benagassi in action when he in the 44th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! In the 47th minute of the match, Sedeni Ampudia got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sergio Faron was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After the first half El Retorno de Palermo were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Leandro Ofelio made the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Carqueja got a freekick which was hit by Eleder Benagassi. In a very dangerous position, a player in El Retorno de Palermo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 53rd minute. Penalty! When Eleuterio Savier fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Retorno de Palermo's protests and gave Eleuterio Savier a yellow card for diving instead. A very good chance. Sergio Faron took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damaso Tejeyra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eleder Benagassi was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 68th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 69th minute, David Paublo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Pinto Caniego managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carqueja's supporters rose to their feet, but Pinto Caniego was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sergio Faron breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Prudencio Ekain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quique Sominaya having to interfere. In the 77th match minute, Carqueja was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eleder Benagassi to maneuver through the defense. After 80 minutes of play Carqueja's Eleder Benagassi was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Carqueja's Eleder Benagassi got a free kick in the 80th minute. Eleuterio Savier struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Quique Sominaya didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Retorno de Palermo. After 86 played minutes Carqueja got a freekick which was hit by Sedeni Ampudia. Celestino Nataniel kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Damaso Tejeyra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sergio Faron read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play.
