Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emil Şandru stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dorel Bojonca's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anton Bitang in the 15th minute of play forced Progresul Pitesti's goalkeeper Emil Şandru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute of the match Leontin Achifoaiei sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Emil Şandru skillfully saved the ball. In the 17th match minute, Progresul Pitesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Liviu Brânzaru to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st match minute, Progresul Pitesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dragoş Oloieru to maneuver through the defense. Emil Şandru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorel Bojonca in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Dorel Bojonca made a precise shot to the right of Emil Şandru. Progresul Pitesti's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 42nd minute of the game Petruț Zăhărescu made a throw-in which Dorel Bojonca played forward. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Dorel Bojonca made the kick off in the second half. Emil Şandru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorel Bojonca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dorel Bojonca who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 54thth minute tested the skills of Emil Şandru when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dorel Bojonca in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emil Şandru prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dorel Bojonca in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emil Şandru saved Progresul Pitesti from getting behind. After 73 minutes, Dorel Bojonca made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Progresul Pitesti's Emil Şandru tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Dorel Bojonca had several of the Progresul Pitesti's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 76 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-4 score and a disappointed Emil Şandru as he didn't even see the shot coming. Matei Zbârciog hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Liviu Brânzaru's late challenge caught a ★RO★ Afrimesti FC 2007's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Liviu Brânzaru helped the player get up and apologised. In the 88th minute, Liviu Brânzaru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emil Şandru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorel Bojonca in the 92nd minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Progresul Pitesti's goal looked a bit too open when Anton Bitang came free, but Emil Şandru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. ★RO★ Afrimesti FC 2007's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
