Mountainhammer United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ascacibar-Pérez the free kick. The supporters of Ascacibar-Pérez booed when Mountainhammer United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Folke Mellberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin Alebeck made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ismael Vela in the 17th minute. With a little luck, Mountainhammer United's Martin Alebeck got control of the ball when Ismael Vela tried to sneak it across the goal line. Michael Käcker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ladislao Endira made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Michael Käcker sent off a good shot on target. Ladislao Endira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael Käcker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 79th minute, Bengt Stålman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Michael Käcker in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ladislao Endira saved Ascacibar-Pérez from getting behind. Ladislao Endira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bengt Stålman, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Bengt Stålman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ismael Vela hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Mountainhammer United's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
