Spectators: 7514 (Terracing: 5636, Seating: 1728, VIP seats: 150) 3 minutes into the game, Waka Mineiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Alfred Clemence was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 6th minute, Ademar Medeiros made a precise shot to the right of Alfred Clemence. Flamengo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Waka Mineiro took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alfred Clemence. Alfred Clemence dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Alfred Clemence took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nilson da Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfred Clemence showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilson da Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After 14 minutes, Eriberto Vidal made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Flamengo's Alfred Clemence tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Flamengo's Adam Truscott got a free kick in the 17th minute. Waka Mineiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eriberto Vidal in the 19th minute of play forced Flamengo's goalkeeper Alfred Clemence to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Ademar Medeiros had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfred Clemence. Flamengo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ademar Medeiros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Alfred Clemence showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilson da Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. A collision led to Flamengo getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Sonny Delamore hit a great ball. In the 34th minute Ademar Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfred Clemence saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mark Halliwell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Ronaldo Sampaio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes into the game, Barcellos Mineiro FC's Nilson da Rocha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfred Clemence made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-6. 43 minutes into the match, Flamengo's goal looked a bit too open when Ademar Medeiros came free, but Alfred Clemence reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfred Clemence showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilson da Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jez Buckler made a kick off. With a little luck, Flamengo's Alfred Clemence got control of the ball when Ademar Medeiros tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eriberto Vidal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Alfred Clemence made a huge save. Flamengo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 68th minute, when João Pedro Arce scored to the left of an out of position Alfred Clemence, making the score, 1-8. Ademar Medeiros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Alfred Clemence made a huge save. Sonny Delamore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 75 minutes into the match, Flamengo's goal looked a bit too open when Waka Mineiro came free, but Alfred Clemence reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nilson da Rocha took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alfred Clemence. Alfred Clemence dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-10. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eriberto Vidal got free with Alfred Clemence in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alfred Clemence showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waka Mineiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. The supporters of Flamengo booed when Barcellos Mineiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilson da Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 99 minutes, Waka Mineiro took a quick shot and it went in 1-11 without a chance for Alfred Clemence to make any attempt to save it. Barcellos Mineiro FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
