Marcel Anisie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltazar Lago in the 7th minute of the match. Basarab Bâlea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandão Linares having to interfere. 11 minutes into the match, Adam Rednic notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of SAO JOANENSE FC's Fernandão Linares. Fernandão Linares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. DINAMO's Eliodor Dragu was substituted for Basarab Bâlea. The supporters of DINAMO booed when SAO JOANENSE FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renato Vianna didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 18 in the game by Șerban Damian from a close distance when the talented Fernandão Linares managed to make a qualified save. SAO JOANENSE FC's players were relieved. The corner ended in Emanuel Ardeleanu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SAO JOANENSE FC's Fernandão Linares did a great save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Victor Linhares during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee ignored SAO JOANENSE FC's protests and gave Angelo Magalhães a yellow card for diving instead. After 29 played minutes SAO JOANENSE FC got a freekick which was hit by Angelo Magalhães. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Șerban Damian in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fernandão Linares saved SAO JOANENSE FC from getting behind. Marcel Anisie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. If Baltazar Lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Șerban Damian kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Șerban Damian made a kick off. After 55 played minutes DINAMO got a freekick which was hit by David Greblă. After 56 minutes, Eliodor Dragu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the DINAMO and the SAO JOANENSE FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Baltazar Lago recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SAO JOANENSE FC were furious when Gugu da Fonseca was red carded, 60 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in SAO JOANENSE FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 59th minute. Penalty! An unexpectedly hard shot by Adam Rednic in the 62nd minute of play forced SAO JOANENSE FC's goalkeeper Fernandão Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baltazar Lago came free with the goalkeeper in the 66th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Marcel Anisie could save by the left post. If Baltazar Lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 71 minutes into the match, Baltazar Lago had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcel Anisie. DINAMO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Baltazar Lago was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Baltazar Lago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Marcel Anisie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Baltazar Lago could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Marcel Anisie made a huge save. SAO JOANENSE FC's Fernandão Linares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Șerban Damian in the 81st minute of play. Angelo Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Anisie having to interfere. In the 89th minute, José Duarte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baltazar Lago got free with Marcel Anisie in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. José Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Șerban Damian in the 99th minute of play forced SAO JOANENSE FC's goalkeeper Fernandão Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the SAO JOANENSE FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
