Walmir Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josh Galdes having to interfere. Templars FC's Josh Galdes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cafu de Moraes in the 26th minute of play. After 29 played minutes Three Lions FC got a freekick which was hit by Mateus Medeiros. If Jonathan Tagliaferro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Jonathan Tagliaferro took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Célio Baiano to make any attempt to save it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oscar Linhares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 54 minutes, Oscar Linhares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Three Lions FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oscar Linhares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Walmir Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Templars FC's Adam Aquilina was substituted for Antonio Depasquale. Templars FC's Tim Ciantar was substituted for Mark Borg Xuereb. Tim Hyzler hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. 73 minutes into the game, Mateus Medeiros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Three Lions FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Templars FC the free kick. In the 73rd minute, Mateus Medeiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Templars FC booed when Three Lions FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Hermes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Tagliaferro scored 3-1 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Célio Baiano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Jonathan Tagliaferro came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Templars FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonathan Tagliaferro couldn't finish the play. After 86 played minutes Three Lions FC got a freekick which was hit by Cafu de Moraes. After 89 played minutes Templars FC got a freekick which was hit by Steve DeGaetano. 92 minutes into the match, Templars FC's goal looked a bit too open when Walmir Gonçalves came free, but Josh Galdes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute, Oscar Linhares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Three Lions FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
