Karl-Åke Mattsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anacleto Oxarra in the 30th minute of the match. In the 35th minute, AC Milan's Yngve Mårtensson seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Yngve Mårtensson the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of AC Milan protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Yngve Mårtensson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 36th minute, Yngve Mårtensson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gavino Cristos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Vallin in the 41st minute of the match. With his leg Gavino Cristos managed to avoid a goal in the 51stth minute, when AC Milan's Christian Vallin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Gavino Cristos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sture Holm in the 52nd minute of play. Gavino Cristos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kent Ahlgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Malte Ahlerot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gavino Cristos having to interfere. If Sture Holm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 60 minutes into the match, Lucio Luzaide notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of AC Milan's Karl-Åke Mattsson. Karl-Åke Mattsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet as AC Milan's Malte Ahlerot slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gavino Cristos. That made the score 2-1 after 75 minutes of play. After 77 played minutes AC Milan got a freekick which was hit by Bernt Alstedt. When Jan Grep fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AC Milan's protests and gave Jan Grep a yellow card for diving instead. Cesar Aritza placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! During the 83rd minute of the match Edgard Lesardo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Edgard Lesardo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Edgard Lesardo kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Eusebio Ugutz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Karl-Åke Mattsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Karl-Åke Mattsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusebio Ugutz, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute.
