Potentia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fred Driel should have stopped the shot. 13 minutes into the match, TS Wisła Kraków's goal looked a bit too open when Meindert Jongsma came free, but Tymoteusz Owsiak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fred Driel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeusz Latkiewicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fred Driel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugon Jaruzelski in the 21st minute of play. 22 minutes into the game, Grzegorz Zjawin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. TS Wisła Kraków's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.C. Potentia the free kick. In the 25th minute Hugon Jaruzelski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Driel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 25 played minutes S.C. Potentia got a freekick which was hit by Timo van Persie. TS Wisła Kraków's Tymoteusz Owsiak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Meindert Jongsma in the 29th minute of play. Potentia's Koen Beishuizen seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Koen Beishuizen the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of S.C. Potentia protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Koen Beishuizen had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in S.C. Potentia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 42nd minute. Penalty! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Fred Driel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marek Majewski, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Tadeusz Latkiewicz was extremely unlucky when he, in the 53rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 58th minute, TS Wisła Kraków's Grzegorz Zjawin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. Potentia booed when TS Wisła Kraków was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filip Serwach didn't get a good kick on the ball. The S.C. Potentia supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching TS Wisła Kraków's performance. The match ended with a win for TS Wisła Kraków.
