The referee ignored Æsir Ásgarðr's protests and gave Grímlaugur Hannibalsson a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Æsir Ásgarðr's Grímlaugur Hannibalsson got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 15th minute, Leopoldo Jerico ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arnviður Þorsteinsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 18 minutes into the match, Baldomero Berbiz notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Æsir Ásgarðr's Arnviður Þorsteinsson. Arnviður Þorsteinsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Æsir Ásgarðr's Arnviður Þorsteinsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucio Luzaide in the 24th minute of play. In the 26th minute Eusebio Ugutz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnviður Þorsteinsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Æsir Ásgarðr's Valbergur Hjartarsson got a free kick in the 27th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Lucio Luzaide had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnviður Þorsteinsson. Æsir Ásgarðr's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lucio Luzaide was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusebio Ugutz in the 37th minute of play forced Æsir Ásgarðr's goalkeeper Arnviður Þorsteinsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 38 minutes into the game, Leopoldo Jerico cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Arnviður Þorsteinsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Arnviður Þorsteinsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusebio Ugutz in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Jerico in the 44th minute of play forced Æsir Ásgarðr's goalkeeper Arnviður Þorsteinsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnviður Þorsteinsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucio Luzaide in the 45th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Æsir Ásgarðr defense, Leopoldo Jerico kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnviður Þorsteinsson. The Æsir Ásgarðr fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnviður Þorsteinsson should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-6.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leopoldo Jerico made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Lucio Luzaide shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnviður Þorsteinsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eusebio Ugutz got free with Arnviður Þorsteinsson in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arnleifur Oddvarsson's late challenge caught a Ayapaso's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arnleifur Oddvarsson helped the player get up and apologised. Ayapaso's Dionisio Tabby was substituted for Cesar Aritza. In the 57th minute, Arnleifur Oddvarsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute of the match, Leopoldo Jerico got a very nice opportunity to score, but Arnviður Þorsteinsson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 64th minute, Leopoldo Jerico left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ayapaso fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. Eusebio Ugutz struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Arnviður Þorsteinsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ayapaso. In the 74th minute Baldomero Berbiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnviður Þorsteinsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnviður Þorsteinsson was out of position in the 77 minute of play, and Eusebio Ugutz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eusebio Ugutz really showed his touch with that goal: 0-8. With 82 minutes on the clock, Áslákur Reynisson commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Æsir Ásgarðr fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 81st minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 84 minutes, Ayapaso's Gogo Neto got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Arnviður Þorsteinsson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusebio Ugutz in the 87th minute of play forced Æsir Ásgarðr's goalkeeper Arnviður Þorsteinsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leopoldo Jerico could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Arnviður Þorsteinsson made a huge save. Arnviður Þorsteinsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucio Luzaide in the 93rd minute of play. In the 94th match minute, Æsir Ásgarðr was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Grímlaugur Hannibalsson to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 95 minutes, Arnviður Þorsteinsson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 96th minute Eusebio Ugutz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnviður Þorsteinsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Baldomero Berbiz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ayapaso's supporters rose to their feet, but Baldomero Berbiz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnviður Þorsteinsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 100 minutes into the match, Æsir Ásgarðr's goalkeeper Arnviður Þorsteinsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leopoldo Jerico. Ayapaso played a much better game than Æsir Ásgarðr and deserved their victory. The Æsir Ásgarðr players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
