Gilmar Tinoco hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After 6 played minutes Joinville United - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Gilmar Tinoco. Edu Moreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Domingos Savier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute of the match, Edu Moreira got a very nice opportunity to score, but Domingos Savier was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 22nd match minute, Joinville United - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Pedro Rodrigues to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd minute, Gonzalo Chorche left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The North of California fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Gilberto Rosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leopoldo Bertran, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 34thth minute of the game Edu Moreira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but North of California's Domingos Savier was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Joinville United - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Gonzalo Chorche came free, but Gilberto Rosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute Leopoldo Bertran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Rosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilberto Rosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Ereinotz, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After 45 played minutes North of California got a freekick which was hit by Delmiro Gaizkine. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Ereinotz in the 52nd minute of play forced Joinville United - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Gilberto Rosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Delmiro Gaizkine kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Leopoldo Bertran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felipe Ereinotz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gilberto Rosa came out and tried to block the shot, but Felipe Ereinotz slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 59th minute. A collision led to North of California getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Anastasio Playo hit a great ball. A sloppy throw-in by Maximino Lawrence in the 65th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Joinville United - FSCMZ's Breno Meirelles. In the 67th minute Gonzalo Chorche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Rosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Felipe Ereinotz took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Gilberto Rosa to make any attempt to save it. In the 76th minute Edu Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domingos Savier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 77 minutes, Evelio Orti mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the North of California and the Joinville United - FSCMZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. Evelio Orti kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Edu Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 92nd minute, Delmiro Gaizkine hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched North of California eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
