Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karl-Axel Ödman in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Francisco Castanheira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 45 minutes into the game, Jerónimo Gama was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Teachers FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Halkus Valkus BK the free kick. After 45 played minutes Teachers FC got a freekick which was hit by Jerónimo Gama. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Torcato Portela to make the kick off.
